From Hewlett to Hicksville, these are the garage door companies with a Nassau County address on Google. Check the license before anyone touches a spring.
Only a handful of garage door companies keep a shop with a Nassau street address on Google, fewer than Suffolk has. Your choices are wider than that list, though. A request from Levittown or Long Beach goes to companies that take Nassau jobs, whichever side of the county line they work from.
Every home improvement contractor holding a Nassau license has been fingerprinted, the county says, and if a licensed company leaves you with a bad job, Consumer Affairs will mediate and investigate at no charge. You have to go to that office first, before any lawsuit. Hire someone without the license and that route is closed.
So ask for the number on the phone and search it while the tech is on the way. The license guide shows where, along with what the written contract should include.
Grouped by the town on each company's Google listing, October 2026. A company with more than one location appears under its Nassau address.

The county's own contract checklist puts it bluntly. With an unlicensed contractor, you have little recourse if the job goes wrong, and the free complaint mediation the county offers only covers licensed ones.
Not the county. Nassau says plumbers and electricians get their licenses from the town, city or village, so if the job needs new wiring, ask your local building department what it requires.
